5th-ranked Daegu FC travels to 8th-ranked Jeonbuk to take on the leaders

Riding high on a five-match unbeaten run, fifth-ranked Daegu FC takes on Jeonbuk, who hosted leaders Ulsan in a rivalry derby.

After winning 1-0 against FC Seoul in the last round, Daegu FC will look to make it two wins in a row for the second time this season when they host Jeonbuk Hyundai in the 17th round of the Hana OneQ K League 2023 at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on June 7 at 7pm.

Daegu, who are unbeaten in their last five matches with three wins and two draws, have seen the destructive power of their trio of Sejingya and Edgar, who have returned from injury, and Ko Jae-hyun, who is the leading goal scorer among domestic players.

All three players have scored a goal in their last five games, with Go and Edgar both recording multi-goal performances, while Go and Sejingya have added an assist apiece.

As good as the attackers have been, the defense has been just as practical, showing the kind of concentration that has allowed them to keep a clean sheet in games where they have more than doubled their possession.

Their opponents, Jeonbuk, sit in eighth 먹튀검증 place, below Daegu, but having bounced back with a 2-0 home win over leaders Ulsan in the previous round, and with only three points separating them from Daegu, a loss for Daegu in this match could knock them out of fifth place.

Daegu also trails Jeonbuk Hyundai in the all-time head-to-head record with 10 wins, 12 draws, and 30 losses, but they also have memories of their first meeting this season, a 2-0 win at home in the fourth round.

In what is expected to be an intense matchup, Daegu hasn’t won away from home against Jeonbuk since September 25, 2019, when they traveled to Jeonju, and a win in this round would give them their second consecutive win of the season and close the gap on the top three.
