The “Serious Challenge,” a collaboration between professional soccer’s K League and online game EA FC ONLINE (FC Online), concluded today. For about six months, the players performed unique on-field gimmicks that caught the attention of fans. With only the announcement of the winner of the ‘Best Ceremony Award’ left to be made, FC Online officials said the results of the challenge “exceeded expectations.”
The KFA and FC Online kicked off the challenge in late May. The rules were simple. Even if you don’t score a goal yourself, you just need to be seen on the broadcast screen performing the designated ceremony. There were rewards for successful completion of the challenge, including a donation of 1 million won to a social welfare foundation in the player’s name and a 5 million won subsidy for team dinners.
The ‘Big Man’ (players waving their arms up and down in unison) is a representative example, which was performed by Team K League players in the Coupang Play Series between Team K League and Tottenham last year. In addition, seven other exotic serenades were designated.
Participation in the first month was slow. At the time, club officials said, “Sometimes our players don’t know the game,” and “Sometimes they forget when they’re focused on the game.”
In response, FC Online went to the clubs and filmed content with the players to promote the challenge. Moon Sun-min (Jeonbuk), the ‘Ceremony Craftsman’, performed a unique control tower ceremony, followed by the ‘Muebelo Ceremony’, leading the fans to cheer. Foreign players Peter (Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do) and Jerso (Incheon) also delighted the fans by collaborating with their teammates.
FC Anyang took the lion’s share of the challenge. Starting with Kim Dong-jin, Ahn Yong-woo and Park Jae-yong joined the challenge, especially Kim Dong-jin, who performed a Spanish dance in front of the fans even after scoring his first goal in a long time against Seoul E-Land on March 28. An Anyang official said, “Senior players such as Kim Dong-jin and Lee Chang-yong were interested in the challenge. It was also a motivation for the players to have a dinner party.”
Only four of the 25 K League clubs participated in the challenge. An official from FC Online said, “We prioritized not affecting the players’ play. At the same time, it was important to make users who only play games interested in the K League.” “Nevertheless, there were many cases where players enjoyed participating. I think the effect exceeded our expectations.” “We are grateful that the players did not forget about the ceremony even though they were busy.” 무지개토토 주소
Finally, the representative said, “We are continuing to think about linking with the K League. Even if it’s not necessarily a serum challenge, we’re trying to strengthen the connection.”
The winner of the ‘Best Serenity’ award chosen by users will be announced on the FC Online website at noon on the 23rd. The winner will receive an individual award at the K League Awards ceremony at the end of the year.
