‘Aren’t you a loanee?’ Felix publicly snipes at home team’s ATM, then goes on to ‘goal celebration’…Barcelona win 1-0

FC Barcelona’s João Felix celebrates against his hometown club Atletico Madrid despite being on loan.

Barcelona won 1-0 in the 15th round of the 2023/24 Spanish Primera Liga against AT Madrid at Estadio Olympic Luis Companis in Barcelona, Spain, on Thursday (Sept. 4).

Felix was playing against AT Madrid for the first time since joining Barcelona on loan last summer, and he put the hosts on the board early. In the 28th minute, Felix finished a through ball from Hapinha, who drove from the right into the center of the box, with a chip shot over the keeper.

Some players don’t do ceremonies against their former club, but not Felix, who celebrated by climbing a billboard and throwing his arms out to the crowd. Even though he was on loan, it didn’t bother him at all.

Felix’s relationship with AT Madrid began to sour last season, when he publicly feuded with AT Madrid coach Diego Simeone over his playing time in the 2022/23 season. His falling out with Simeone led to a loan move to Chelsea in January. Felix dreamed of a permanent move to Chelsea, but the Blues didn’t buy him outright.

To make matters worse, in July, Felix said, “I want to join Barcelona. Barcelona has always been my first choice,” angering AT Madrid. He eventually realized his dream. Felix left AT Madrid during the summer transfer window and was loaned to Barcelona. He even took a 90% pay cut from his previous salary to join Barcelona. 보스토토 주소

Felix recently provoked AT Madrid, telling ESPN: “Obviously, I prefer Barcelona’s style. Not only me, but all the players. The same goes for the AT Madrid players,” he said. Felix scored the winning goal against AT Madrid to give Barcelona three points. This season, he has five goals and three assists in 17 official games.
