Korea Women’s Hockey Junior Team to win fifth title in 15 years at Asia Cup 2023…face India in final

The South Korean women’s junior national hockey team has advanced to the final of the 2023 Asia Cup with an undefeated record and a chance to win its fifth title.

South Korea defeated China 2-0 in the 토토사이트 semifinals of the Women’s Ice Hockey Junior Asia Cup 2023 on Tuesday at the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Hockey Stadium in Kagamigahara, Japan, to advance to the final.

With the victory, the Koreans booked their ticket to the World Junior Championship in Chile in November, where they will try to win their fifth title in 15 years and first since 2008. The Koreans have previously won the title four times, in 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2008.

The final will be played against India, who defeated hosts Japan 1-0. South Korea drew 2-2 with India in the preliminary round.

South Korea, led by Kim Sung-kyung, took an early lead in the fifth minute when Son Ga-young (Inje University) drove down the left flank and Hong Solbutnara (Korea Gymnastics University) slid in a cross.

In the second quarter, Ahn Soo-jin (KU) converted her trademark penalty corner to extend the lead to 2-0. Korea and China then battled back and forth with three green cards, but no further points were scored.
