Ohtani silent at the plate on eve of start, hitless vs. MIA…LAA’s 4-game winning streak snapped

Ohtani went 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts while batting third in the lineup against the Miami Marlins at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, U.S., on April 27. The team had its four-game winning streak snapped in a 2-6 loss.

Ohtani’s no-hitter dropped his season batting average from .280 to .275. Ohtani will return to the mound the next day on April 28 against Miami. It will be Ohtani’s first start of the season against Miami. His record this year is 5-1 with a 3.05 ERA in 10 starts.

In the top of the first inning, 안전놀이터 Ohtani led off with a single and was thrown out at second base. Down 0-2 in the bottom of the third, he struck out swinging two batters later. Down 1-2 in the fifth, he struck out swinging again with two outs to end the inning.

With the score 5-2 in the top of the seventh, Mike Trout led off the inning with a double to right field, but Ohtani threw to shortstop to end the threat. The Angels added a run in the eighth inning and eventually fell 2-6.

The Angels had a team-high 10 hits on the day, including three from Gio Aschella and two from Trout, but could only muster two runs. Conversely, Miami was led by Bryan Delacruz with four hits, including a home run, and scored six runs on a team-high 16 hits.
